Prince William knows what the big occasion would have meant to his mum, so in a bid to share it with her he has taken Kate Middleton to her tomb just days before the wedding.
The couple held hands as they wandered slowly through the grounds of the Althorp Estate towards her final resting place.
Choked with emotion, they took a boat to the tiny island where Diana was buried 14 years ago.
They then quietly paid tribute to the princess and laid flowers.
William, 28, wants Kate, 29, to share his thoughts of his mother as much as possible when they marry in front of a global audience of two billion people next Friday.
A source said yesterday: “It was very important for William to take Kate to visit his mum just before their wedding day.
“Diana is still a huge part of her boys’ everyday life and always will be.
