The maiden edition of the Schools Arts Mentorship Programme (SAMP) Train was held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Seeds After The Order of Christ Academy (SATOC).
The programme gave the students the rare opportunity to interact with renowned Ghanaian poet, author and surgeon, Professor Ladé Wosornu.
It connected a budding generation of creatives with a poet whose works they have studied in class for years. It marked the first edition of the SATOC Academy Art Mentorship Programme with Professor Ladé Wosornu.
The event featured an infographic presentation of selected poems by Professor Wosornu, reviews and performances of the poems, as well as a one-on-one interaction with the literary icon on his writing career, life experiences as a creative and accomplished surgeon, and guidance on becoming a successful poet and author.

Students were also given the opportunity to engage Professor Wosornu on issues relating to his literary works, creative journey and the discipline required to excel in both the arts and the sciences.

The Schools Arts Mentorship Programme (SAMP) Train is an initiative aimed at contributing to the development of Ghana’s creative arts sector. It is designed to bridge the gap between budding creatives and established artists by creating opportunities for mentorship, knowledge sharing and practical engagement.

It is the brainchild of Playhouse.kom. The maiden edition was produced in partnership with the Professor Ladé Wosornu Trust and Seeds After The Order of Christ Academy (SATOC).
