Nana Amobaa Dufie, Queenmother of Krobo and Kyidomhemaa of the Techiman Traditional Area, has expressed dismay at the indecent and obscene way the youth in the country dress.
She said "while the young men wear their pairs of trousers in the 'Otto Pfister' style, young women wear dresses that show their thighs and the lower parts of their bellies."
Nana Amobaa Dufie said this at the celebration of the annual Munifie Yam Festival, under the theme: "Unity among the people for peaceful co-existence," at Krobo in the Techiman Municipality.
She said the celebration of traditional festivals should not be misconstrued as idol worship.
Nana Amobaa explained that the festival was a special event instituted in ancient times to ensure peace, unity and development of their area.
She advised the youth against drug abuse, prostitution, armed robbery, alcoholism and other social vices and asked them to direct their energies towards national development.
Oyeadeeye Asah Acompanin II, Krobohene and Kyidomhene of the Traditional Area, praised the Queenmother for her contribution to development and called on the people to support the traditional rulers towards the progress of the area.
