The family of former president Jerry John Rawlings have denied media reports suggesting Kimathi Rawlings is preparing to marry a daughter of the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Sections of the media have published stories saying Kimathi will be marrying Adriana Dukua Akuf-Addo in December this year.
But a statement from the office of the former President says "there is no liaison between the two people as published in the media. Mr. Kimathi Rawlings confirms that there is no such relationship between him and the young lady."
"The report published in the said tabloid is a fabrication of the editor whose deficiency as far as truth is concerned has moved from severe to chronic. It is mischievous and a gross violation of the private lives of the two young people and a disregard for their integrity.
"We wish to caution the media that any re-publication of this false report is also slanderous and libellous and will be a violation of the privacy rights of Mr. Kimathi Agyeman-Rawlings. We reserve the right to pursue the matter at the appropriate quarters," he concluded.
