Real Estate Developers say until a more sustainable tax-holiday regime is established for their sector, government’s bid to provide affordable housing for low income earners would continue to be a mirage.Operators in the sector until this year, enjoyed a five-year tax-break and this they argue would not only have to be re-instated but also extended to cover at least 30 years for that due impact.The Ministry of Works and Housing has in this light established a working group working round the clock towards this bid.President of the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association, GREDA Dr. Alex Tweneboah told Joy Business, it is critical for government to adopt a more sustainable approach to effectively address the country’s huge housing deficit.Dr. Tweneboah added it is high time government came up with definite action plans of its bid to partner the private sector to deliver affordable houses for especially the low income earners in the country.
