The Silverbird Lifestyle store at the Accra Mall was on Saturday filled to capacity when music lovers and enthusiasts converged for the launch of Richie’s second album, U.K.N.R. (U Know the Name Right). The title of the album comes from one of his two famous signatures; ‘U Know the Name Right’ and ‘It’s a Hit Man’. It is a 13-track album which has already popular hit singles ‘Manim Tonn’, ‘Yaaro’, ‘Intoxicated’, and ‘Asa Fofro’. He said in an interview with Myjoyonline.com that the album is, “an identity of me and it's more like my maturity in respect to who I am.” He added that the Ghanaian music industry has been on his heart and that is why he has been fighting for the industry constantly. Richie’s first album, ‘All of Me’ which had 12 tracks was released in 2008 and it had popular tracks like ‘Frema’, ‘When I get you’ and ‘Dirty Dance’. Backed by his Lynx Entertainment squad, Asem, Ezzy, OJ Black and a long list of Ghanaian music stars - Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, Kwaw Kese, Ayigbe Edem, Samini, Tinny, Sarkodie and 2 Toff, Richie trilled his fans to exciting performances from his old and new works. There was also an autograph signing session where fans who bought copies of the album had their copies autographed by Richie. The young talented sound engineer who recently amassed the coveted ‘Producer of the Year’ at this year’s Ghana Music Awards has clearly cemented his name as one of Ghana’s finest vocalists and best sound engineers.
