The Rotary Club of Accra Ridge has unveiled plans to promote mental health awareness and expand its community development efforts across Accra and beyond.
The announcement was made during the inauguration of the club’s new president, Rotarian Oppong Agyare Agyeman-Anane.
The club pledged to raise over GH¢300,000 to support these initiatives.
Guided by the theme “Unite for Good,” the club will focus on several key priorities for the 2025 Rotary year.
These include a campaign to promote mental health awareness, completion of the maternity block at the Mallam Atta Market, and the introduction of blood donation awards to honour three recipients from each of Ghana’s 16 regions. The club will also continue its annual medical screening exercise in Kotoso, located in the Kwahu East District.
In his address, President Agyeman-Anane underscored the importance of unity and active involvement by all members.
He encouraged Rotarians to support The Rotary Foundation through timely payment of dues, regular attendance at club meetings and projects, and ongoing contributions.
He also urged members to donate to the Polio Plus Fund, supporting Rotary’s global campaign to eradicate polio.
Outgoing president, Rotarian Efosa Aibangbee, reflected on the club’s achievements during his tenure.
He noted significant growth in membership and the club’s continued support for the Nii Amugi Cluster of Schools in Accra. He also highlighted the near completion of the Mallam Atta Delivery and Maternity Unit, a key legacy project of his leadership.
District Governor Nana Yaa Pokua Siriboe echoed the call for sustained support for Rotary’s humanitarian efforts through The Rotary Foundation. She reaffirmed the year’s theme, “Unite for Good,” urging Rotarians and supporters to remain committed to service and community impact.
