Elected Central Regional Football Association chairman Roy Arthur has lauded the ongoing national U17 justifier programme.
The technical team of the Black Starlets (National Under 17) headed by coach Paa Kwasi Fabin have been touring the country in search of talents to groom them for selection into the team into the next Black Starlets team.
The exercise which began in Tamale early January has reached Cape Coast where young players gathered at the Cape Coast Robert Mensah stadium to impress coach Fabin for a place in the next national U17 team.
“I think it is a good initiative by the Ghana Football Association and also for coach Paa Kwasi Fabin. Going around the country in search of talents is the way to go,” said Arthur
“This is the way to develop football and for me I am happy that young players in the Central Region have also been given the opportunity to showcase what they have.”
“We should always encourage programmes of this nature because football is not just about some few places in Ghana.”
“For some us that who travel across the length and breadth of the country I can tell you that players are everywhere.”
The players selected after this phase would go through the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan to determine the authenticity of their ages.
