Newly elected Central Regional Football Association chairman Roy Arthur says he is not perturbed with dethroned chairman MNS Doe’s threats of going to court to contest the eligibility of his candidature.
Arthur, former CEO of BA United secured 26 votes to beat Mr Doe who had 24 votes out of the total vote cast. The defeat to Doe ends his 26 years in charge of office as head of the Central Regional Football Association.
Doe has not come to terms with the loss, as he is adamant that his opponent was not eligible to stand for elections in the Central Region. But Arthur, in an exclusive chat with Joy Sports after the elections, dismissed the potential moves of the veteran administrator.
“I don’t really care and I’m ready for anything. The election committee vetted me, went through my application and declared me eligible to stand so what is he talking about?”
“Before the elections, the GFA’s election committee chairman called us and asked if we were ready to contest each other. We all said yes, so i really don’t get why he will now come and say that. He is being hard to himself. I just know I have done a good job and I deserve to win.”
Roy Arthur will therefore represent the Central Region on the next National Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
