Environmental Officers of various district assemblies and the sanitation taskforce will soon embark on a house to house inspection to enforce bye-laws.
The officers and selected staff of the taskforce are currently undergoing training to build their capacity to sensitize the public during the enforcement exercise.
Public Relations Manager of Zoomlion Ghana, Robert Coleman told Joy News this has become necessary to curb the increasing cost of managing waste especially in urban centers.
“The taskforce inspection is going on effectively across the length and breadth of this country. They also compliment the effort of zoomlion workers together with the workers of the various assemblies,” he said.
Mr. Coleman added they are intensifying their campaign in Nima, Sukura and Chokor where recent cases of cholera have been reported to reduce the spread of the disease.
