Cracked heels spoil the entire beauty of your feet. Despite the fact that feet are the most overworked part of the body, many people fail to give it the proper care it actually needs.
This lack of proper care leads to conditions like cracked heels.
Cracked heels are medically termed as heel fissures and are characterized by the drying up and cracking of skin on the feet.
If not treated in the initial stages, this can eventually develop into a very painful condition.
Here are some tips which will help you to tackle the problem of
cracked heels.
The first step is to exfoliate your feet. You can do this by rubbing your feet with a foot file to remove the dead skin. You should use a foot file only when your foot is completely dry.
You can soak your feet in warm soap water for 15 to 20 minutes every night before going to bed. Adding a cup of milk to the water will help to remove the dirt off easily and will also help in softening the feet.
Gently rub your wet feet with a pumice stone. You can then towel dry your feet and moisturize it by using Vaseline, shea butter or olive oil .Cover your feet with socks and leave it overnight.
Repeating the above said procedure continuously for a week is guaranteed to produce visible results.
You can also moisturize your feet by applying a fruit mixture of lemon juice and ripe banana. You can also apply a mixture of glycerin and rose water to your feet in order to moisturize it.
If your cracked heels are causing pain then you can try applying a mixture of 1 teaspoon coconut oil and 1 teaspoon of melted paraffin wax on to your heels. You can use mustard oil instead of coconut oil.
Leave the mixture overnight and rinse it off the next day morning with warm water.
Instead of trying to cure cracked heels, you can also take proper precautionary measures so as to avoid them. Keep your feet neat and clean and do not walk bare foot or wear thin soled shoes.
Make it a point to moisturize your feet every night .Also drink plenty of water and have a diet rich in omega 3 fatty acids.
By following the above said tips you too can thus be the proud owner of a beautiful pair of feet.
