Authorities of the St James Minor Seminary at Abesim near Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region have described the death of two final-year students killed by lightening as a natural occurrence.
The Deputy Rector for the school, Rev Father Hubert Asante Kumi said such an incident can happen to anyone and therefore he will not read any meaning into the deaths of the students.
Lightning struck the two students, Shadrach Adolf and Isaac Osei Kufour, dead last Tuesday night when they were returning from prep at about 10pm.
Rev. Fr. Hubert Asante Kumi in an interview with Adom News said fear gripped the students after the incident, but the authorities have calmed the situation and the students have recovered from the shock.
The Deputy Rector rubbished claims that the students died as a result of a spell cast against them.
Meanwhile, a Meteorologist, Rev. Steve Nyakotey Quao has explained that lightening can kill because the human hair is charged when it comes into contact with water.
He therefore warned that people should abstain from walking in rains.
