Hollywood star and former politician Arnold Schwarzenegger has attended the inauguration of a museum in his native Austria, dedicated to his life. The museum, which opened in July, is located in the two-storey house in the small village of Thal where the star was born in 1947. The museum display includes the former bodybuilder's first barbell and several life-size Terminator models. He said visitors will see that anyone can be successful "in his own way". 'Symbol of will' Schwarzenegger added: "My personal success has less to do with millions of dollars or with the headlines in the media that are not always positive and also not with being clapped on the shoulder by Barack Obama and other world names. "Personal success is the result of determination, hard work and stubbornness. For me, this is not only a museum, it is also a symbol of will. Everyone has a chance." Hundreds of fans, many dressed in the leather biker outfit of his cyborg character, gathered to catch a glimpse of the 64-year-old. The ex-governor of California, who began his career as a bodybuilder, unveiled a bronze statue of himself, which he commissioned himself earlier this year. Schwarzenegger left the village of Thal, near the city of Graz, in 1966 but gave the project his blessing. A plaque by the door reads "Arnold Schwarzenegger's Birth House Museum", although it is thought he was born in a nearby hospital. The museum also has a section dedicated to his time as governor, including a copy of his desk. Schwarzenegger's son Patrick, from his marriage to Maria Shriver, accompanied him on the trip. The couple recently announced they were to divorce after 25 years following revelations that he had fathered a child out of wedlock. The star paid tribute to the marriage, saying he looks back with "great fondness". Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann introduced him as "one Austrian known by everyone in the world".
