The Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church on Friday presented a cheque for 40 million cedis to the flood disaster victims in the Upper East Region.
Pastor Emmanuel Y. Frimpong, who presented the cheque, said even though the Adventist Relief Agency (ADRA), the development unit of the Church, had given donations to the victims, the Church decided to give financial support to help the victims recover what they had lost.
He said the Church was concerned about the welfare of the victims and would not only pray for them but would also help to make life bearable for them.
Mr. Samuel N'laare, Regional Coordinating Director and Mr. Anderson Nabia, Regional Coordinator, National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) jointly received the cheque on behalf of the victims and thanked the Church.
Mr. N'laare said the victims were still recovering from all that they suffered and would need the support of all.
