The British Council in partnership with TiGO and supported by the University of Westminster, as well as the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen has launched Season Three of The Challenge reality TV show.
The Challenge, an Education UK Reality Game show is the most prized and educative reality show offering an opportunity to young and enterprising graduates with second-class upper or first class degrees to further their education abroad.
This year The Challenge would see two winners guaranteed full board postgraduate scholarships worth ÂŁ70,000 at the Robert Gordon University and University of Westminster accompanied by a fully paid accommodation and a monthly living allowance.
Out of the hundreds of hopefuls who applied to participate in the show this year, twenty five (25) candidates qualified and underwent a series of interviews by a panel which includes representatives of the partner universities. The candidates were shortlisted to twelve (12) finalists who would participate in the thirteen week Reality TV Show.
The twelve (12) finalists will receive extensive personal and professional development training and compete against each other in a series of weekly tests, debates, tasks and quizzes in management, leadership, creativity and UK-Ghana trivia.
The contestants will be adjudged by a 3-member scholarship committee; named THE BOARD to be made up of Mr. Kwesi Appiah, Madam Abena Amoah and Madam Esther Cobbah all renowned Ghanaian business leaders.
Depending on performance against set criteria, three contestants would be nominated by the Board for eviction after three episodes of the show.
Seven out of the 12 contestants will be evicted over a twelve-week period and the remaining five contestants will go head-to-head in a final contest to determine the two top winners for post-graduate admissions at the Robert Gordon University and University of Westminster in the UK.
The Challenge which will run for thirteen weeks on GTV and GH One Entertainment TV on Sunday afternoons would afford the general public the opportunity to participate as studio audience and also to txt for their favourite contestants on short code 1750 on all networks to keep them in the competition.
The eviction show which would be televised on Mondays on GTV and GH One Entertainment TV would see a contestant who fails to meet the expectations of the BOARD ousted from the competition.
Other sponsors of the show include SIC, IPMC, 3E Quantum, Gsocialize.com, Pro Credit, GTV and GH One Entertainment TV.
