Sesi Technologies, a Ghanaian-owned Agritech company, has launched its AI-powered soil testing services, designed to give smallholder farmers precise, actionable soil intelligence that improves crop yields, reduces input waste, and strengthens farm profitability.

The new service combines advanced soil analysis, field mapping, detailed reporting, and tailored nutrient recommendations into a single professional offering.

Soil health is a critical constraint for smallholder farmers across Ghana and sub-Saharan Africa. This is worsened by the impacts of climate change and other environmental factors.

But traditional soil testing is costly, time-consuming, and often inaccessible to smallholders.

FarmSense changes this narrative, translating raw data from professional, on-field soil testing directly to farms, backed by artificial intelligence into practical advice.

The soil testing service package includes:

● Field mapping and GPS coordinates for accurate field boundary data.
● Detailed soil health reports highlighting key parameters such as pH, texture, NPK nutrient levels, organic matter content, moisture and temperature.
● Crop-specific nutrient management plans that recommend what inputs to apply, how much, and when.

FarmSense works by sending trained field agents equipped with rugged, portable soil testing devices to the farmer’s land.

These devices capture essential soil characteristics in minutes.

The data is analysed using AI and machine learning to deliver precise nutrient recommendations that help farmers make informed decisions rather than relying on guesswork.
