Shoe Fabriek, the largest safety boots manufacturer in Ghana, is celebrating its 1st anniversary after its new factory in Akropong-Akuapem was commissioned by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on October 6, 2021.
The company has a factory equipped with ultramodern machinery, making it the largest safety boots manufacturer in Ghana and West Africa.
The factory can produce 32,000 pairs of different models of shoes a month, including security boots, safety boots, and school and casual shoes, using state-of-the-art technology and full-fledged infrastructure.
Moreover, Shoe Fabriek has trained over 60 individuals to develop and perfect shoe-making skills on the Akuapem Ridge this past year; in our quest to transform the shoe-making landscape in Ghana and West Africa.
In the subsequent years, we anticipate training a minimum of 300 more young people in our catchment area by 2025.

Furthermore, we delight our clients by making high-quality shoes and apparel for men, women, and children. Due to this, this past year, we have been privileged to work with local and international companies; to produce various kinds of high-quality shoes within our portfolio, from factory workers to students.
Shoe Fabriek, therefore, urges all manufacturing, construction and Security companies to source their security boots, safety boots and PPEs from us. Our strategic location, an hour’s drive from Accra, facilitates short production lead times and ease of delivery, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timeliness.
Commenting on the occasion, the General Manager of Shoe Fabriek, Beauty Larbi, mentioned that “we are committed to transforming the African shoe-making industry. The quality and delivery of the shoes we make is strong evidence of our commitment.”
As a people-focused, socially inclusive, and sustainable business, over 70% of our staff are women aged below 35 years. This is a deliberate move to ensure that women in the Akropong Akuapem enclave are empowered.
Additionally, the company has since donated security boots to cadets of six Senior High Schools on the Akuapem Ridge, and school sandals to students of the Akropong School for the Blind.
Regarding our commitment to the environment, Shoe Fabriek uses efficient technology and processes that enable us to recycle and upcycle our raw materials. Doing these protects the environment and enhances economic development for all.
Combining local craftsmanship with international precision, the company produces the best quality footwear, according to partner specifications, for the highest functionality and performance.
This is attested to by brands that have worked with Shoe Fabriek for private-label projects, giving us many exciting collaborations in the pipeline that we look forward to sharing with the world soon.
With the slogan ‘Every Step Counts,’ Shoe Fabriek has, without a doubt, made a huge impact and will continue to do so whilst flying high the flag of Ghana - on the continent and globally.
