After news broke that now Manchester United player, Cristiano Ronaldo has set a new record for the number of goals in men’s international football, social media has been flooded with comments.
Social media users are singing the praises of the 36-year-old Portuguese player for scoring two late goals against Republic of Ireland to turn defeat into victory in the FIFA World Cup qualifying game.
He now has 111 goals for Portugal, thereby beating Iran legend, Ali Daei's 109 goals record that stood for 15 years.
They say Ronaldo is an unstoppable machine who goes for what he sets his eyes on.
Ronaldo has scored in nine major tournaments including World Cups and European Championships as well as the Confederations Cup and Nations League.
He won three Premier League titles, one Champions League, two League Cups and one FA Cup – as well as the Fifa Club World Cup and Community Shield.

For some, Ronaldo is unlikely to beat the world record of Canada striker Christine Sinclair. She has scored 187 goals in 304 caps and has not yet retired.
Got a long way to go Ronaldo before you beat Christine Sinclair!

Because the women’s level at it’s best is no where near as hard as the men’s league at it’s best that’s a fact
