Societe Generale Ghana PLC, as part of activities marking its 20th Anniversary Celebrations, held a massive stakeholder event at the plush Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel on Thursday 5th October 2023, under the theme, “20 Years with You”.
The event had in attendance, regulators, captains of industry, members from the diplomatic community, high-profile individuals, and staff.
“Mr. Music Man” Kojo Antwi, one of Ghana’s famous afro pop, highlife and reggae musical artist lit up the evening with a dazzling performance for the entertaining pleasure of guests.
Societe Generale first entered the Ghanaian financial sector in 2003 when it acquired a 51% stake in the then Social Security Bank.
Over the last two decades, the Bank has provided innovative financial solutions to individuals, SME, and corporate customers.
SG Ghana has remained robust amid the turbulence in the financial sector thereby providing security for customers’ investments.
Addressing the gathering, the Managing Director, Mr. Hakim Ouzzani, emphasised on the significance of the 20-year milestone.
He noted that the loyalty of customers remained the cornerstone of the bank’s achievements.
Mr. Ouzzani challenged the bank’s staff to remain committed to its vision and continue to provide financial solutions to positively impact the lives and activities of its customers.
Mr. Ouzzani offered a special appreciation to the bank’s suppliers and auxiliary service providers for their support and dedication over the years. He stated that SG Ghana could not have made it to this major landmark without their contributions.
SG Group’s Deputy Director of Retail Banking for Africa, the Mediterranean Basin, and Overseas, Georges Wega, who was the guest of honor, expressed his deep-felt gratitude to the local team and the bank’s other stakeholders for making this achievement possible.
Mr. Wega affirmed the Group’s commitment to the subsidiary and the economic future of the country.
The Bank’s ‘Artention’ art competition was also brought to a sensational climax at the event with the announcement of the winners.
Seth Nah Oklikah, a person with a disability, won the first prize with a cash reward of 30,000.00. Consolation prizes of 20,000.00 and 10,000.00 were won by Aminu Salawu andLanto Kwame Mawunyo Azasime respectively. ‘Artention’ is a special Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of SG Ghana to support the Creative Arts Industry.
This year’s competition focused on up cycling in line with the bank’s Sustainability agenda.
The 20th-anniversary celebration continues till the end of 2023 with several events and activities planned.
