The Trade Minister Ekwow Spio-Garbrah has described as malicious, publications that he is scheming to replace Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur as vice presidential candidate in the 2016 elections.
The January 30, 2015 edition of the General Telegraph newspaper reported that the Trade Minister was among a number of Government appointees plotting to unseat the vice president ahead of the 2016 elections.
However in a statement signed by Alhaji M Naziru, Special Assistant to the Trade Minister said the publication is completely false.
"Ekwow Spio-Garbrah wishes to make it known that he is not and will not be involved in any scheme to replace Vice President Amissah-Arthur."
The statement also cautioned media houses to desist from publishing such false statements.
"We further assure the entire NDC family and the general public to treat any such unsubstantiated publications with all the contempt it deserves for the good of the party and country," the statement said.
