The National Sports Council (NSC) has suspended Joseph Doku, a Security officer indefinitely for selling fake tickets.
Doku, a security detail of the Council was alleged to have sold fake tickets to some officials of Kpando Heart of Lions for the team’s penultimate Top Four duel against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra last Sunday.
The fake tickets, according to a National Security source were surplus ones from past games.
The source told GNA Sports that security intelligence detected interference in the date and time of the said tickets and when the officials were confronted, they were led to Doku.
The security officer allegedly altered the date and time of the tickets which were used during the first leg game involving the two teams with a pen and sold them to the unsuspecting officials for an unknown amount.
Mr Worlanyo Agrah, Chief Executive Officer of the Council told GNA Sports that the suspension is a prelude to an investigation whose outcome will provide punitive measures to be taken against the officer.
This is the first time an officer of the Council has been caught in the act which is believed to be a traditional canker in sports circles in the country.
