Non-governmental organization (NGO), Technology without Borders, has refurbished and donated twenty laptops to the St. Paul's Catholic School at Nkanfoa in the Central Region.

This is to facilitate the teaching and learning of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the school.

President and Project Leader of Technology without Boarders, Sampson Oboh explained that the ICT lab was set up as part of the Organisation’s ‘Teaching Computer Basics’ project to educate teachers and students on ICT and the use of computer hardware.

"The Teaching Computer Basics project aims at providing sustainable knowledge transfer of ICT and we want to achieve this by first training the teachers. As a result, we did the trainer of trainers' workshop for several weeks and after, we donated materials and hardware including laptops. We hope that the knowledge gained by the teachers will be transferred onto the people", he said.

The German project leader of Technology Without Borders (Technik-ohne-grenzen), Anja Fernholz said the school’s dedication to learning ICT and the teachers' commitment to teaching, inspired the organization to refurbish the facility.

She added that adequate measures will be put in place to ensure that the computers are maintained to enhance its usage.

“After this project we will make sure that our private partner here in Ghana will do follow ups and send us reports to evaluate the progress of work so as to give them the maximum support. We will also make sure teachers have good opportunities to teach the students and should there arise any problem we will come on board to help solve it", Fernholz said.
