The Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association remains confident the Stars will book a place in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon 2012 despite a disappointing performance by the Stars on Sunday. The Black Stars were held goalless by a cagey Sudanese side at the Kumasi Sports Stadium throwing Group I wide open. The Stars only lead Sudan by goal difference with both teams amassing four points from two games. Congo breathe down their necks with three points following a 3-1 thumping of Swaziland. The Stars now have a difficult task of grinding a result in far away Sudan and must beat Congo, home and away to be convinced of a place in the Nations Cup. Randy Abbey told journalists minutes after the game on Sunday “this is just a temporal challenge but we shall surely qualify." He said the team will correct the mistakes which denied them the much needed victory against Sudan.
