A Governance Consultant, Mr. Kwabena Afriyie Bado says president Kufuor must initiate transitional talks with both the NPP and NDC presidential candidates.
That, he said is necessary if transitional crisis is to be avoided.
The presidential candidates of the two parties, Nana Akufo-Addo and Prof. John Atta Mills have already started campaigning for the run-off.
The run-off was necessitated by the failure of either candidate to obtain the 50+1 per cent votes to clinch a first round victory.
Scheduled for December 28, results for the run-off are expected by December 31 leaving just about a week to plan the transition.
That time, according to Mr. Bado is too short to plan a smooth transition.
Speaking to Joy News’ Matilda Asante, he said in the interest of the country the president and the two candidates must move quickly to put a transitional team in place.
He said the candidates must choose representatives to start discussing with the appropriate authorities transitional issues.
He stressed the need for the out-going government to handover schedules to the incoming one.
