Stephanie Fynn from the Deutsche International School and Fareed Abdulai Mansuru from the Good Foundation School have won the 5^th Edition of El & Bee spelling competition.

The Grand Finale of the 5th Edition of the Competition took place on the 19^th of November, 2022 at the University of Ghana Campus Legon, Accra right at the Mensah Sarbah Hall.

Compass Plus together with the gargantuan support of the Pathway of Life Foundation, a Canadian-based entity, organised the spelling competition to help young students in rural communities in Ghana develop their spelling abilities and help grow their confidence.

The Finale saw over 50 talented and intelligent young spellers from across the length and breadth of Ghana compete massively by spelling English words correctly. The contest saw the competitors divided into two categories, intermediate (basic 3 to 5) and advanced ( basic 6 to 8).

The tail end of the contest was extremely competitive. Two students from the intermediate (basic 3 to 5) competed for the 3rd spot in the final round of the competition.

Fareed Abdulai Mansuru from the Good Foundation School was the winner, Maame Pomaa Abena Boakye-Yiadom from Bishop Owusu Girls School and Doxa Adomaye Amponsah from Mega Qodesh Montesorri were the 1^st and 2^nd Runner Up respectively.

After the final round of the competition, Stephanie Fynn from the Deutsche International School came out as the ultimate winner for the intermediate (basic 3 to 5) whereas Samuella Banini Good and Sedinam Mawuli Dotsey both from the foundation international school took the 1^st and 2^nd Runner Up spot respectively.

 The Ultimate winners both went home with a 2,000 Ghana cedi scholarship cash prize and a brand new laptop and the 1^st and 2^nd Runners up also went home with a 1,500 and 1,000 Ghana cedi scholarship cash prize.

All six winners will be going on a mega summer trip to Toronto Canada, kind courtesy of Pathway of Life Foundation, the official financier of the contest.

After all the emotions, nervous moments and hard work, Ghana’s finest musician Abochi gave these amazing students an electrifying performance, making this year’s edition a spectacular one.

Joy learning TV in an exclusive interview with the CEO of Compass Plus, Esther Konama Gyan, disclosed that the competition is a project she is running back at home in Sunyani, to help the rural students in her community, give them the opportunity to learn, grow their confidence and travel to get to meet other students across other regions in the country.

She further mentioned that the project is purposely for young students who do not have the privilege to partake in such competitions as those in international schools.

Also, Joy Learning TV interacted with the CEO of Pathway of life Foundation, Apostle Dennis Awuku Welbeck, he mentioned that the foundation has the vision to reach out to children, give them the opportunity they never had, help them to become responsible and better people of the society.

In furtherance of this, he described the less privileged children hawking on the streets as a major menace since they can be knocked down by moving vehicles in the streets of Accra and he further went ahead to admonish parents to be involved in the upbringing of their wards.
