The Tepa Circuit Court last Thursday, remanded Kwame Agyekum, a 19-year-old student of Tepa Senior High School in police custody for sexually abusing a 10-year-old primary three school girl.
He pleaded guilty and would re-appear before the court on November 29.
Police Chief Inspector Prosper Aheto, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Amoh Yertey that the victim, a pupil of Keniago Primary School stays with the parents at Dansokrom near Manfo in the Ahafo-Ano North District of Ashanti.
He said on November 10, around 11am, the accused visited Dansokrom and later got to know that the parents of the victim had traveled.
He then lured the girl to a nearby cocoa farm and sexually abused her.
The prosecutor said around 8pm on the same day Agyekum went to the victim's house and again forcibly had sex with her.
The victim narrated her ordeal to her parents on their return a week later.
A report was then made to the police who arrested the accused and a medical form issued to the victim confirmed the act.
Chief Inspector Aheto said Agyekum confessed during interrogation of defiling the victim and was therefore charged with the offence.
