Black Stars defender, Rashid Sumaila has admitted that he is poised to play for Ghana despite his first appearance at the biggest mundial and has vowed to give his best in Brazil.
The Mamelodi Sundowns defender has described the current Black Stars as having raised its standards, which other countries, especially in Africa, will struggle to catch up with.
Speaking ahead of the match against the South Korea in the USA on Monday, Sumaila said without doubt the Appiah’s regime as coach has positively impacted on the team and he was desperate to be part of the success story.
“Luckily, I have been picked to go and do battle for the nation in Brazil and I can assure you that I will give my all to the team. The talent is there, the stars are here and we work as a family. I want to give my all and ensure that we do well in Brazil”, in a chat with Myjoyonline.com
He thanked fans in Ghana, South Africa and the world who stood by him while he won the PSL league this season with Sundowns and promised that he will not fail them at Brazil 2014.
