The Police Administration says the transfer of former Director of Public Affairs, Supt. Kwesi Ofori from his base in the Ashanti Region to Accra as head of the Community Police Unit is because of his ability to mobilize the public to assist the administration deal with crime in the city.
Supt. Kwesi Ofori until last Friday was in charge of Tafo-Pankrono.
A very media-friendly officer, until his transfer, Supt. Kwesi Ofori was in the news recently after the service issued a statement to distance itself from a bounty he placed on a suspect accused of disrupting the recent biometric registration exercise.
Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Cephas Arthur explained to Joy News his former boss is best suited for the new role.
