A 55-year-old man, William Gyamfi, popularly known as Kwasi Manso, has been remanded into police custody by the Juaboso Magistrate Court for allegedly stabbing a female family member in both eyes.
The court, presided over by His Worship Samuel Entee Junior, ordered the remand to allow police to continue investigations into the incident, which reportedly stemmed from a misunderstanding between the suspect and the victim.
The victim, Akua Agyeiwaa, believed to be in her early 50s, is alleged to have been attacked with a pair of scissors, resulting in severe injuries to both eyes.
She was initially rushed to the Juaboso Government Hospital for emergency treatment before being referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi for specialised medical care.
Sources close to the family have further indicated that arrangements are underway to transport the victim to South Africa for advanced medical treatment.
Meanwhile, police investigations into the case are ongoing.
