Ghanaian striker Prince Tagoe grabbed a double for Al Ettifaq in their 4-1 win over UAE contenders Al Shabab at the Prince Mohammed Stadium on Wednesday in the Asian Champions League .
Tagoe outjumped the Al Shabab defence to head home a corner from the left by Sayyaf Al Bishi after six minutes.
He teed up a pass on the edge of the box for Saleh Bashir to lash a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner of the net on 16 minutes.
In stoppage time, Essa Al Muhairi's shot slammed against the crossbar but in the ensuing move, Al Shabab finally found the net as Carlos Renato fired a powerful low shot with his right foot past goalie Shihan.
A third goal did arrive in the 67th minute when Bashir leapt to put a looping header past Goalkeeper Mahmoud.
Ettifaq put the game out of reach in the 81st minute when Bashir's cross from the right was met by Tagoe, who put a first time shot past Mahmoud to round off the scoring.
The win pushed the Saudi club to the top of Group D with a six-point lead.
