Tema Circuit Court ‘A’ has remanded a 23-year-old tailor, Wisdom Dokpo, into police custody for an alleged double identity.
Dokpo pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on December 9.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Adolphus Otchere, told the court presided over by Mrs Lauren Owusu that Dokpo, an account holder at Tema branch of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) presented a voter identity card with number 23462834 bearing the name Mills Smith W. Mensah with his photograph on it when he requested to close down his account on November 24.
He said another voter identity card with number 19716862 bearing the name Wisdom Dokpo with his photograph was found on the bank’s database when the first identity card was scanned.
The prosecution said Dokpo was subsequently arrested and handed over to the police and after investigations charged with the offence.
