Techiman City Football Club’s first target for the upcoming season will be to avoid relegation, according to the club’s President Mr. Charles Kwadwo Ntim.
The Techiman side sealed qualification to join next season's elite division but their participation is in doubt following a case of bribery and match fixing brought against them.
However, the President believes nothing can stop them from playing in next season’s premier league and have already set sights on surviving in their first year.
“We are not going to win the league but fight until the end of the season. I am not going to say that we are going to challenge for the title, however, what we want is to be competitive and see how high we can finish on the table,” Charles Ntim told Asempa Sports.
“Anybody who knows Ohene Amenyaw Park knows it is very difficult for clubs to come here and pick even a point and Techiman City will maintain that record with support from the people of Techiman.”
Charles Ntim’s side have already clinched a mouthwatering sponsorship deal worth $350,000 with local oil company Nasona Oil.
“This sponsorship from Nasona will go a long way.”
“This will alleviate the financial burden on the club and also motivate the players ahead of the Ghana premier league.”
“We promise to give Nasona all the necessary attention and mileage they deserve”, Charles Kwadwo Ntim assured.
Techiman City are yet to beef up the squad who qualified for the premiership but Ntim has urged fans to be patient as his side undertake strategic signings.
“We are doing a strategic signings .We want to have a settled and competitive team.”
