Communication Minister Haruna Iddrisu has called on telecom companies to fully cooperate on the implementation of the international gateway monitoring system.
The Government this year established a consolidated telephone clearing house to monitor all in-bound international calls and also check fraud in processing of the calls.
Some telecom companies have raised issues with the monitoring system, alleging it will invade the privacy of callers.
But speaking at the launch of Tigo Cash last Friday, Haruna Iddrisu reiterated that the platform will not only help reduce fraud but provide additional revenue for the government.
He said their checks show that compliance is inconsistent.
The Tigo Cash is a new product that will enable subscribers to send and receive remittances from friends and family.
