Scores of residents of Kokomlemle and its environs, who thronged the premises of the Multimedia Group on Monday, November 22, 2021, showered praises on the company for making it possible for them to get vaccinated.
In line with a directive from the government for all persons to get vaccinated ahead of the Christmas festivities or risk being denied entry into event venues, the Multimedia Group set up a tent for persons who are yet to be vaccinated against Covid-19 to do so. This is being one in collaboration with the Ayawaso Central Ghana Health Service.

The exercise dubbed, 'Multimedia Group Vaccination Drive' was patronised by many residents who for various reasons had not taken any shot or had taken only one jab of the Covid-19 vaccine, the chance to do so.

A resident, Samuel Baidoo lauded the Multimedia Group for the initiative. According to him, it is convenient, as he did not have to join any long queues to get vaccinated.
"I commend JoyFM for bringing the vaccines from the hospital to our doors," he said.

Another resident, Auntie Aku who operates a 'chop bar' at Kokomlemle, and has been contemplating how to get her second shot after the first in April, said "Joy has brought joy to us with this. I'm very glad they reached out to us with the vaccines. God bless you and continue with the good work," she said.

Bondzie Eduafo Quaye, a non-resident, had not taken any shot at all. He resides in Nsawam but works as a mechanic at a shop in Kokomlemle. Before the exercise, he has been worried about how to get vaccinated, "I've been looking for a center but I couldn't find any. I was directed to a clinic at Kotoku, but I haven't had time to go for the shot, so bringing it here has been very helpful."

Mr. Quaye further noted that he initially did not want to take the vaccine because of misinformation about side effects, but was encouraged to do so after he witnessed the President and other government officials take their shots.

"There was so much misconception about the vaccine but I wasn't perturbed because we all witnessed the President and other government officials taking their shots. It's been months and nothing has happened to anyone, so I encourage everyone to take a shot," he said.

"We are grateful to Joy for bringing this, but we plead with them to ensure that they set up a stand for the second dose as well," he added.

The General Manager, Sales and Marketing of the Multimedia Group, Max Fugar, was present to interact with the health personnel and patrons. He noted that following the directive from government, Management of the Multimedia Group found it necessary to organise the exercise for members of the community.

"Government has given a directive that everyone who would attend any event in December, should be vaccinated and as a listening company and as a business that cares about their audience and our clients, we decided to organise this vaccination exercise for residents in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service, Ayawaso Central to bring the vaccine to the doorsteps of our audience, who are likely to participate in our events," he said.

He therefore entreated residents to disregard misconceptions about the vaccine and get vaccinated.
"I'll use myself as an example, I've taken two doses of the vaccine and I'm fine and would want to encourage as many people as possible to take advantage of this opportunity that the Multimedia Group and the Ghana Health Service are offering them to get vaccinated," he added.

All Covid-19 safety protocols are being observed strictly during the exercise.
