Very Reverend Godfrey Augustus Gaisie, Minister in-charge of the Mankranso Circuit of the Methodist Church has debunked the notion among some people that the Church and Christianity have failed the country.
He said the Church had neither failed nor disappointed the country but it has rather been a partner in national development.
Rev. Gaisie expressed the sentiments in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after a non-denominational service at Mankranso to mark Ghana @ 50 celebrations, organised by the Local Council of Churches.
He said the Church has provided educational institutions, health facilities and other social amenities.
Rev. Gaisie also said the Church has helped in preventing social vices such as like alcoholism, drug addiction, indiscipline, teenage pregnancy through the spreading of the gospel.He urged Ghanaians co-existent for the socio-economic and political development of the country.Source: GNA
