Buem Member of Parliament, Kofi Adams, is of the view that it is completely unnecessary for the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) flagbearer to engage in a debate with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer would end up only embarrassing himself because both he and President Akufo-Addo had failed to deliver on the promises made to Ghanaians.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile, he explained that despite the countless claims from Dr Bawumia that he was an economic messiah and head of the economic management team, the current economic conditions proved that he cannot properly handle anything.
“I am saying today that my position today, is that there is no need, he debating,” he told host, Samson Lardy Anyenini on July 27.
He argued that Mr Mahama had proven he was capable of managing the affairs of the country and his track record was very clear for all to see.
However, Mr Adams said that in any case, if the NDC flagbearer decides to debate, the party would rally behind him.
His remarks come amid growing calls from the Bawumia camp for a debate between the two leading presidential candidates ahead of the upcoming elections.
