The Sakumono District Police Command in the Tema West Municipality has arrested three men in connection with a shooting and trespassing incident at the Celebrity Golf Club area in Sakumono, Greater Accra.
The suspects have been identified as Abubakar Mohammed, aged 28, Eric Asare, aged 23, and Felix Darko, aged 48. They were picked up by police following a reported disturbance at a construction site within the vicinity of the popular golf club on Saturday, October 18.
According to a police statement issued by the Police on Sunday, October 19, “Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects, who falsely claimed to be National Security operatives, stormed a construction site belonging to one of the executives of the Celebrity Golf Club, and unlawfully discharged firearms, causing damage to parts of the property.”
Police added that the incident is believed to be linked to an ongoing land dispute involving some parties within the Nungua Traditional Council.

All three suspects are currently in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.
The Accra Regional Police Command has since issued a warning to the public against taking the law into their own hands, especially in matters relating to land disputes.
“The Police cautions all individuals and groups to desist from lawlessness, particularly in matters relating to land disputes. Those found culpable will face the full rigours of the law.”
The authorities have assured residents that further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
