Three talented young rap artistes made passed the judges' test at the Zone 2 auditions of Hitz Discovery music reality show held at the Par Dees Night Club at Ashaley Botwe in Accra Saturday.
The Hitz Discovery show launched a couple of weeks ago is a reality show aimed at providing an enabling environment for youngsters to showcase their talent with the winner getting a contract with Hitz FM to record and promote his or her album.
The first phase of the auditions took place at De Temple Nite Club in Achimota where Emmanuel Asante, Hagar Adjei and David Addy were selected from about 30 talents that turned up for the auditions.
The three will represent Zone One for the next round of the show.
The Zone Two audition was keenly contested with the many who thronged the Par Dess Night Club eager to lock down a ticket for the finale.
The Zone Two group was made up of Legon, Madina, Adenta and Ashaley Botwe and its environs.
Twenty young energetic talents showed up at the auditions and with postures that clearly showed their lives depended on it; it was nothing less than a fun-packed show.
With judges; Ahmed Abubakar (Blakk Rasta), Jamie Adjetey, Ahuma Ocansey Bosco (Daddy Bosco) and Nana Oku (Hammer) seated, the eager contestants took turns to prove their worth.
Sadly, unlike the first audition in Achimota, there were no females in this auditions.
The Par Dees auditions brought to bare the stark desire of many youths to take up music vis a vis their entire lack of what the industry is all about. As they filed onto the stage one after the other to perform in front of the judges, one could not hold back laughter as some of the contestants turned out complete comedians.
One contestant mischievously had a tangle with the judges when he was told he could not sing and in a bid to prove he was good, he said, “I can sang better”. This sent ribs cracking.
Nevertheless, after two rounds of proving their worth and coaching from hiplife artiste, Ayigbe Edem, three made it from Zone Two.
The three; Fiho Moses, Willis Adoboa and Owusu Frank will represent that zone at the next phase of the competition.
The Hitz Discovery train will be at the Infinity Nite Club at Mamprobi, Accra on Saturday, December 4, for the Zone Three auditions. Zone Three is made up Lapaz, Kasoa, Mallam, Dansoman, Mamprobi and its environs.
There will be an after jam at the same venue after the auditions.
