A tipper truck heading from Kumasi to Goaso on Sunday morning veered off the road at Tepa in the Ahafo-Ano North District, and killed a 28-year old mother and her six-year old son who were on their way to the farm.
The bodies of Mariama Mustapha and Bashiru Mustapha have been deposited at the Bechem Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
Baba Ahmadu, the driver is already in the grips of the Tepa police, assisting in investigations.
According to a witness, the tipper truck which was on its way to Goaso to load timber logs after crossing the River Abu Bridge to enter the Tepa Township suddenly started to criss-cross the road.
The deceased on seeing the unsteady movement of the truck, moved to a safer side of the road, but the truck skidded to where they had moved to, ran over them and killed them instantly.
When contacted, the Tepa police confirmed the incident.
