The Essikado Traditional Council on Tuesday enstooled the Chairman and the Executive Producer of TV Africa as Akokyemihene.
Opanyin Kwaw Paintsil Ansah's stool name is Nana Yankey Kofo.
The honorary title is in recognition of the undying commitment of Opanyin Ansah to Africa and African values.
The ceremony formed part of the activities marking this year’s annual Kuntum festival of the chiefs and people of the traditional area.
The festival was on the theme: “Celebrating the Spirit of Africa.”
It was the first time in 18-years that the traditional area has celebrated the Kuntum festival because the final funeral rites of the late Nana Kobina Nketia 1V had not been performed.
Nana Kobina Nketia V, the Omanhene of the area performed the rites in November last year, paving the way for the celebration of the festival.
Second Lady Matilda Amissah-Arthur was the special guest of honour for the occasion.
Among the dignitaries present were Mr Joe Ghartey, Member of Parliament for Essikado and the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Dr Henry Seidu Daana, Minister of Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Ebenezer Addo, Western Regional Minister, Captain Anthony Cudjoe, Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Kofi Boakye, Regional Police Commander.
