The police have arrested two suspected Boko Haram members in Niger State.One week after Kabir Abubakar Dikko alias Kabiru Sokoto, the alleged mastermind of the Christmas Day bomb blast at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State, was rearrested by security agents, two Boko Haram suspects, Abdullahi Gouto and Mallam Ayuba Kuchito, have also been picked up.They were arrested at Gbadu village and Madalla in Niger State.Gouto, who lived in Maiduguri, Borno State with one Alhaji Bashir was said to have joined the sect in his home country, Chad, after he was dismissed from college for protesting against a beauty contest.The second suspect, Kuchiko, who runs a non-formal Islamic school, Al-majirun-wal-Ansar with a population of about 40 pupils, was arrested in Madalla.The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7 Police Command, Atiku Kafur, who said this at a press conference Friday in Abuja, explained that Kuchiko confessed to being an ally of wanted terrorists like Mallam Adamu Maigini, Mallam Bashir, Yunusa Katako, Mallam Mdala, Idris Bank and one Captain Bahago.Kafur said investigations were ongoing to apprehend the allies of the Islamic teacher, adding that detectives were on the trail of other suspected members of Boko Haram.He said: “On January 29, 2012 at about 6 pm, one Abdullahi Gouto, a Chadian was arrested at Gbadu village in Lapai local Government Area of Niger State. He hails from Chad republic and speaks Arabic and French languages.“Gouto lived in Maiduguri with one Alhaji Bashir; he was dismissed from college for protesting against beauty contest in Chad and this made him join the Islamic group, Boko Haram, in Chad.”
