Two middle-aged men have drowned in a well at New Akrofum in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region.
The two drowned after owner of the well, Mr. Ntiamoah asked them to remove a dead goat that was trapped in the well.
George Yaw Boateng, the Assemblyman at Adansi North District, explains that Kwabena, an experienced hand with a water-pumping machine encountered difficulty while trying to pump out water from the well.
The owner of the machine joined Kwabena to help him overcome the difficulty. But while down there, he was gripped with fear and tried climbing out of the well with a rope despite Kwabena's encouragement to wait for a while.
The owner of the machine, while in middle of the well, lost grip of the rope and fell on the other who was inside the well, leading to both drowning.
