A self-styled hotel consultant, Elvis Amankwah, was on Wednesday arrested by the Nima police for possessing fake GH¢10 notes.
The Nima Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Akos K. Yelisong, told the Times that at about 1:40pm on Wednesday, they had information from the Police Headquarters Operation room that someone had bought fuel at the SO fuel filling station on the Ring Road Central, and paid with fake notes adding that the police immediately proceeded to the scene and contacted the managing director who handed over Elvis Amankwah to them.
He said that police found 10 fake GH¢10 notes on him.
Upon interrogation, Amankwah admitted the offence and said he changed a 100 US dollars from a man known as Hassan Mallam at the airport but Hassan who was also arrested, however, denied changing any dollar notes for Amankwah.
