A timely intervention by the Dansoman police halted what would have been a blood bath when four soldiers clashed with land guards at Akokophoto in Dansoman, Saturday.
The soldiers were allegedly hired to demolish structures on a disputed land and they moved in with earth breaking machines to begin the demolishing exercise.
But persons, said to be land guards resisted the attempts by the four military men and their counterparts.
This, eye witnesses say culminated into a serious confrontation between the land guards and military personnel.
But for the timely intervention of the police the situation would have been bloody.
The Dansoman police who confirmed the incident to Myjoyonline.com said two of the four military men have been arrested with other two bolting away.
The Accra Police PRO, DSP Freeman Tettey said the two military men will be handed over to the military high command for further investigation and possible disciplinary action.
Checks by Myjoyonline.com indicate the ownership of the land on which the demolishing exercise was to take place has being in dispute with a court placing an injunction on the use of the land until the dispute has been resolved. The land was formally part of the state farms project and was used in rearing poultry until it was released by the state.
Its ownership has since been in dispute.
The Military men were said to have been hired by one of the factions in the land dispute to embark on the demolishing exercise but were resisted by land guards.
