Ugandan police have arrested academic and activist Stella Nyanzi and two Makerere University students report Uganda's Daily Monitor.
The three had been protesting over last week's death of a student, Emmanuel Tegu, allegedly following an assault at the university.
The Daily Monitor reports that they were arrested while walking to parliament to present a petition demanding justice for the killed student.

Nyanzi is a writer, researcher and former lecturer at the university.
The outspoken academic is an unapologetic critic of President Yoweri Museveni.
She has spent time in jail for a poem she posted on social media that was deemed abusive to the president and his late mother -- and was only released in February after a successful appeal.
