The two British teen girls convicted for drug offences in Ghana are now to be sentenced January 9. The trial court is awaiting a social services report of the profile of the convicts to decide their punishment. The two school girls were arrested at the Kotoka International Airport in July with two cocaine-stashed laptop bags. They claimed they were not aware that the drugs, said to be worth about ÂŁ300,000, were in their luggage. Officers of Ghana's Narcotics Control Board have said the girls were being paid ÂŁ3,000 each to carry the bags on a flight to Britain and that their tickets were bought by men who also paid for the girls' accommodation and food in Ghana.
