The management of Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) says it has arrested of an unscrupulous syndicate who attempted to attack its infrastructure last week.
The Bank achieved this with the successful collaboration with the Ghana Police Service (GPS) who helped with their expertise in the area of cyber attack to cause the arrest of the syndicate.
"UMB wishes to state that due to the significant infrastructural investments made into the bank’s operational systems, the technical and security teams of our bank were quickly alerted and moved very swiftly to avert this situation.
"Our bank remains resilient and very committed to working with the security forces to clean the environment of any form of cyber miscreants," a statement from the bank said.
UMB added that it was grateful to the GPS for their professionalism and tactful recommendations in their collaborative efforts towards the execution of the exercise.
