Ms. Nilla Selormey, the Managing Director/CEO of Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), one of Ghana’s premier indigenous banks was honoured for her professional achievements in banking by the Centre for Economic and Leadership Development at the Africa Middle East Asia Women Amazon Awards Ceremony held in Dubai on November 21, 2014.
Ms. Nilla Selormey was awarded with the Africa Economic Champion Amazon Award in nbanking for her exemplary work in the banking industry. The Africa Economic Champion Amazon Award is awarded to a female leader who has shown demonstrated leadership, excellence and impact in the banking sector. Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Selormey expressed profound gratitude in being conferred with such a prestigious award.
Based on a stellar 24-year career in the banking industry that is filled with many accomplishments, the Centre for Economic and Leadership Development also inducted Ms. Selormey into the Global Women Leaders Hall of Fame. With this induction, Ms. Selormey joins an illustrious circle of women leaders, including former President of Malawi, H.E Joyce Banda and the Vice President of Zimbabwe, Hon. Joice Mujuru, amongst others.
The Africa Middle East Asia Women Amazon Awards Ceremony was the highlight of a three-day Summit which included attendees from all over the globe, including the First Lady of Ghana, H.E. Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama who received the Global Inspirational Leadership Award.
