University and polytechnic teachers have indicated an ongoing strike to protest delays in negotiations for better service conditions will continue because the Labour and Fair Wages Commissions are yet to address their grievances.
They say a meeting with the two bodies yesterday failed to reach any favorable conclusion.
The National Secretary of the Polytechnic Teachers Association (POTAG), Anthony Ayakwah, said the “two commissions never acted to solve any problem.”
He said the commissions simply repeated positions reached in previous meetings.
The President of the KNUST branch of UTAG, Dr. Kwesi Ohene Yenkyera, however remained hopeful there may be an end in sight to their strike.
He said the leadership will communicate to their members the position of the fair wages and labour commissions, expressing optimism that a favourable conclusion will be reached.
Meanwhile nursing students at the University of Ghana, Legon are worried the strike is adversely affecting their practical work and are appealing for a quick resolution.
