There was however no death.
Bush fires topped the fire outbreaks, accounting for 41 cases while domestic fires placed second with 37 recorded cases.
Statistics made available to the Ghana News Agency in Wa on Tuesday by Mr. Joseph K. Ahinsah, Regional Fire Officer indicated that 16 of the fires were caused by electrical faults.
Wa Municipality topped the list with a total of 98 recorded cases, followed by Lawra three, Tumu and Nadowli two cases each, with Jirapa recording a single case.
Mr. Ahinsah noted that domestic and bush fires are very common in the region and called for public education to arrest the situation.
He said negligence was the main cause of the domestic fire recorded and appealed to the public to acquire fire extinguishers in their homes as first aid in case of fire outbreak, before calling on the Ghana National Fire Service for help.
Mr. Ahinsah said his outfit would carry out an intensive public education to prevent bush burning, which destroy food crops and the environment.
